In English

Here's a short resumé of the most important information you'll need when your child has been enrolled in Børnehuset Dalgården.

Visit us

If you haven't been to see Dalgården yet, please call to arrange an appointment. We'll plan your child's gradual adjustment to the new environment with you, and answer any questions you might have.

AULA

We share a lot of information on our communication system AULA; both your valuable information about your child (such as contact information and various consents) and our daily information about activities and plans. AULA can be accessed through either a browser or an app. Follow this link for an introduction to AULA on Gentofte municipality's homepage. You'll find more information in English and four other languages if you follow this link to Aula info and scroll down a bit.

Important hours

We open at 6.30. Planned activities start at 9.00, so please bring in your child before this. Lunch is served in the infant/toddler department at 10.30; the preschoolers eat their lunch at 11.00. Both departments take their afternoon fruit and snack at 14.00. We close at 17.00 (Monday-Thursday), 16.30 on Fridays. We ask you to inform us who is picking up your child at what hour. This can be preset in advance for as long as you wish on AULA.

Dalgården will be closed on all official holidays, as well as a few additional days - the dates are listed on the noticeboard near the entrance in all departments.

What to bring

Your child should be equipped for both indoor and outdoor activities. Please ask the staff for guidance. Until the month your child turns 3, all meals will be served from our kitchen, and diapers will be provided. When your child moves from infant/toddler department to preschool department at the age of 3, you will need to bring lunch and an afternoon meal of fruit and bread or a healthy snack, in separate containers, and diapers if your child still uses them. In both departments your child needs to bring a drinking bottle with water every day.

Please write your child's name on everything - it makes it a lot easier to identify and locate missing items.

Taking the day off/illness

Please inform us via AULA if your child is taking a day off or going on a vaccation (the plane icon). Also please inform us if your child is ill (the thermometer icon). If your child has caught a contageous disease, please inform us so we can alert the other parents. If your child gets ill while in our care, we will call you and expect you to pick up your child as soon as possible.

Photo policy

We use photos a lot as documentation and illustration of our activities in the AULA gallery, and they also make a great opportunity for you to talk to your child about their experiences, activities and friends. We also make a personal book with photos of your child and their friends when they leave for school, as a memento of their time in Dalgården. We never share pictures of your child outside the Dalgården community of children and parents. Please observe, that if you take photos of other children than your own (at parties and playdates), you're not allowed to share these on social media.
